Some articles are far too short, while others are far too long. It is inexplicable which ones were chosen for either group. The writers are heavy on economics, law, and biographies of artists. Photos or drawings would help for animals and plants, but are not always present. Reading this encyclopedia 40 years after it was first published, some of the information is out of date, but that lends extra interest to the articles on countries and politics.
1996 edition, Vols. 1 and 2 only. Volume 1: A-American Elk, 448 pages, and Volume 2: American English to Assiniboine, 448 pages. Acquired for free as part of a grocery store promotion.
