After The Mistake, all she wants is marriage and a family. He is not the relationship type.
Summer messed up big time and she is staying away from men for a while. Once her twin sister, Winter's wedding is over, and she can get away from the angry stares and hurtful remarks from the people she used to call friends, she can hopefully start to move on with her life. Who knew she would find a kindred spirit in the oh, so cocky and sexy best man, Archibald "Archie" Hill? He's the only thing show more that's keeping her together with his cocksure grin, dirty foot massages, and his invitation to make her forget her name for the entire week. What could go wrong?
The sexual chemistry between Summer and Archie is soooo hot. With his bad boy vibe and her out-of-character willingness to have sex with no strings, is a fantastic combination. Watching Archie's slow decline from a ladies man to a one-woman man is worth waiting for. The hot glances, clandestine hookups and his willingness to save her from the fall out of her life, is a selfless and memorable thing to see. Summer seriously screwed up with her best friend and her sister, but they have miraculously forgiven her and watching her stand up to the others is done with grace and humility. Other characters to love are Summer's sister, Winter, and her husband-to-be, Logan, as well as Logan's friend, Tucker, who reluctantly becomes a pretty good wedding planner.
Overall, this is a hilarious and romantic look at how opposites attract under the best and worst of circumstances, and how change isn't all that bad. To err is human, to forgive divine. I definitely plan to pick up the other books in this series. Recommend highly!
Thank you to Ms. Isley for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review. show less

First I rolled my eyes that Lana didn’t recognize a world-famous dude and then I remembered that I only recently found out who Taylor Swift is, so nvm.
This was a cute celebrity vs. nerd romance, even though Christian was maybe a little too much of a billionaire for my taste. He had a bit of a Gilderoy Lockhart vibe with all his framed photos of himself on the walls, but we’ll let it slide because I still enjoyed the book.
I love Camilla’s writing so much I’ll show more even forgive the MCs for their Tesla obsession. It’s an old book, she couldn’t have known. show less

The Heat of the Moment: A BRAND NEW slow-burn firefighter romance about second chances and finding your spark by Camilla Isley
Whaaaat a tearjerker!
Lily lost her husband four years ago and has been grieving ever since. She’s been through hell. The last thing she needs in her life is to fall in love with another firefighter. But Josh is kind and helpful, and amazing with her daughter…
I cried so much reading this book that my waterproof mascara is now a distant memory. Lily’s grief is a big part of the story and, even though I didn’t expect that turn, I appreciated the way it was portrayed. There was no show more diminishing her love for her late husband, no I’ve-never-felt-like-this-before. Instead, it was acknowledged that grief will always be part of her life, which added depth to both the character and the story.
I frankly expected a big, fat third-act breakup, which probably wouldn’t even have made me mad (much), but it didn’t happen. There was some angst and even a fight towards the end, but it made sense. I liked that Lily communicated her feelings, even when they weren’t easy, and that Josh respected her boundaries. They were cute together and very much deserved their HEA.
This is the heaviest, most emotional book I’ve read from this author, so if grief is a trigger, be good to yourself and read something else. If you’re not scared, go for it!
Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the arc, all opinions are my own.

I love a good enemies to lovers romance, but when I saw this was a sweethearts to enemies to lovers second chance romance I didn't have to think twice about grabbing this because Camilla Isley is such a strong writer that she never fails to engage me with a strong narrative and a great romance. The fact that is a pregnancy story, but one that focuses on IVF, did give me more than a moments pause, but again Isley,'s strength as a writer pulled me in. I am glad that it did because this was a show more well written romance that was perfectly balanced with the bittersweet real world topics of a woman wanting to start a family while facing one of the hardest realities of her life so far. Of course there are a lot of convenient twists of fate to bring the lovers back together that pushed the narrative a little faster than I would have liked, but its a romance and I can accept that as long as the characters are well developed and I feel for them as people. This is something that Isley always delivers. show less
