I was about halfway through the book and I was thinking this is just too easy, everything just seems to go Mahan's way. So I was thinking 3 star rating, it's still good but just not as exciting as the earlier books were. Then
I was so surprised by the ending, I didn't really think that Stacy was going to betray him, even though some hints were dropped, I just figured that everything would just continue to go in Mahan's favor. But not only did Stacy betray him but the vast majority of his show more friends and guild members.

I completely understand why some people really hate this book. Before reading I saw that most people (who hated the book) stopped around 30%. When I got to that part, I completely understood. The main character is extremely annoying and had been for many subsequent pages.

However, I noticed those who made it past that section of the book loved it. I soldiered through it and am glad I did. The main character is still annoying, but the story picks up and gets interesting.

The dialogue is very show more simple (likely because this wasn't written originally in English), but the overall story is pretty good. I'll likely continue in the series but after a break... show less

This book took a wild twist in the overarching plot, but it was action-packed and entertaining to read. It did kind of make most of the dungeons/quests unlocked to be superfluous, and the chest set and Tarantulas still aren't resolved. Hopefully the next book will address it.

I love this series of books, my first LitRpg reads and they are the closest in feel to Ready Player One, with the main character involved in a game that means a lot to him. This latest novel finds Mahan in charge of a clan and about to become royalty, lots of surprising things happen along the way and ends with a surprise that makes me wish the next volume was available.
