This book caters to a very specific demographic; if you didn't grow up watching the same TV as the book's authors (so, late 20s to mid 30s), a lot of the references are going to go over your head. Apart from that, it's a fun pop-culture bathroom book about some of TVs bests and worsts; I'd imagine the book would be enjoyable for anyone who enjoys snarky sarcastic humor, pop-cult-iana, or the televisionwithoutpity.com website. The problem is, the best parts of the website don't translate as show more well to condensed print format. Reading it, there were some entries I wished would be longer, some I didn't really care about, some I laughed out loud at, but in general, the short encylopaedia format doesn't really give enough space for the typical TWoP snark to bloom. show less
This is a writing guide in that it's an excellent example of what to avoid. It's hilariously bad.
This is very entertaining. The opinions on all the familiar, to me, televisions shows and seeing where we agree and disagree. Some very biting remarks but on the whole a lovely slant and perspective.
This was a fun and quick read about a number of supporting character actors. I recognized a few of the names and many of the faces.
