This book was given to me in exchange for a review.
The plot scenario was sound and the honest human fallibility of the main character was refreshing. The narrators juxtaposition of the plots timelines was interesting, as was the unexpected ending. As with many novels today it also provided good scope for a sequel.
However if you don't like, or understand the game of poker then having to wade through pages and pages of game strategy / play made reading parts of the book hard work. The book show more would also benefit from some tighter proofreading / editing, as well as a great deal of polishing. Many errors mainly grammatical / syntax in nature made for an exasperating read. show less
