Ella Miles really knows how to write a dark romance!
This isn't a story for those who don't like romances that push the boundaries. The first book in the series, Dirty Obsession, was deliciously dark and twisted but this one takes it to a whole other level.
I was really excited for Matteo's and Eden's story thanks to their roles in the previous show more novel. I couldn't wait to see how these two would fall in love and what the consequences of it would be. But it took me a lot longer than I thought it would to see them as a couple chemistry wise.
I found for the first third or so of the novel, they didn't interact all that much and if they did, it wasn't always a positive experience, so I didn't totally see the draw between them. I suppose the somewhat "forced" circumstances they find themselves in is part of the draw to the "dark" romance but I like those little moments of vulnerability in my forbidden romances.
Things started to improve though once we pass the halfway mark. I found the drama of the plot line helped to bring the romance and the characters to life in a way that started to win me over. That's when Matteo and Eden started to interact more and the chemistry between them became more apparent.
Fans of dark romance will feel right at home with this second instalment.

This is by FAR the darkest book in the series...but perhaps the most addicting?
I'll admit that parts of this were hard for me to read. Gia has a lot of awful things (like cringe-worthy) happen to her but I appreciated the character growth she received as a result. For me, this story was more about Gia finding herself and her independence more show more so than a straight romance and I liked that. Gia gets broken-down but she rebuilds herself into a much stronger woman as a result.
The plot line itself is engaging. You don't know the good guys from the bad guys which always brings an air of anticipation and tension to the story. Like any Ella Miles book, you really don't know what direction the plot will go and I enjoyed the journey to find out.
As for the romance, I thought these two were a good match. Conti was a little too much for me at the start with his alpha ways; however, I expected that given the nature of the book. But I appreciated the partnership that forms between these two thanks to mutual understanding and experiences so I could see why they would be drawn to each other.
Again, don't read this series if you don't like dark stories or somewhat taboo relationships. But for those who love dark stories with truly villainous characters, this is definitely for you!

I'll admit that the synopsis is slightly misleading, especially once you get two chapters into the novel. But like all of Ella's books, things often go in a direction you don't expect. This book kept me on my toes. It's full of angst and steam and I just got sucked into it all as soon as these two lay eyes on each other. It's so easy to get show more wrapped up in their story.
I really liked Larykn. I wasn't sure what she would be like considering the synopsis (I worried she was going to be driven by sex and lust) but I really grew to like her spunk and independence. She doesn't really play any games and is pretty open to voicing her opinion which I like.
Talk about palpable chemistry! Wowza, you could really feel it between these two! I loved all their scenes together. They are such a good match for each other so watching them inevitably falling in love was such a treat!
This is probably my favourite Ella Miles book to date! I just loved the chemistry and the pacing of the story. I was sucked in from the start!

Kinley's character development was great. Her learning that she is more than the pretty face her family has told her for years was a joy to watch. She and Killian had fantastic chemistry from the start. The tension in their relationship was simply delicious!
This book always had me guessing! The plot is never what it seems and the twists are fabulous! I was absolutely hooked on this story and easily could have read all three books in one sitting if life didn't get in the way.
But like the show more disclaimer said, this series moves in a direction you probably aren't expecting when you pick up Maybe Yes. It has an edge of danger to it that I think some readers might not enjoy if they prefer their lighter romances that focus on the sexy times and everyday dramatics. There's nothing "everyday" about this series at all.
Very excited to see what happens next!
