I enjoyed reading this book. I really liked this book because it reminded me of two of my favorite children's movies, Book of Life and Coco. These movies were based off of the holiday talked about throughout this book called, Day of the Dead. I really enjoyed learning about the Hispanic culture and why this day is celebrated. This book talks about the meaning behind this holiday as it is a celebration honoring the loved ones who have passed away. Some other things I liked reading about were show more the different foods and decorations associated with the holiday. I think the big idea of this book was to show others how important this holiday is to the Hispanic culture and to inform others of what it is about. show less
Skippable. One lame craft, one recipe (choc. dip strawberries), glossary, 'learn more,' photos, and boring text. And the blurb is wrong; there's nothing 'around the world' about it.
