I was hooked to this audiobook within minutes of starting it and had to listen to it in one sitting.
Emma was a little naive to be an FBI agent but this was her first case being back after some leave and it started off with quite a surprise, arriving at her cabin undercover to find a dead man in her porch.
I liked the investigating throughout this book, the chilling things that happened, the cabin seemed quite eerie and I was shocked at who the murderer turned out to be, they were not even on show more my radar! That twist was so good, although creepy too.
The narrator made this audiobook come alive, she had a fantastic voice, and drew me into Emma’s world.
I don’t give 5 stars very often but this audiobook definitely deserves it! show less

I was looking forward to The Girl That Vanished even though I had not read the synopsis as I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the series. This book is set a few months after book one had finished and what happened in it was referenced a few times, so I would encourage people to read book one first.
Children are going missing from what Emma Griffiths considers her home town so it isn't long before she is called upon but she makes it clear that she is there to advise and she wasn't working. show more She had been under instructions to take some time off after her last job which has given her nightmares ever since. Emma being her gets very caught up in events that are happening and with an old flame too.
I liked this a lot, although Emma is still quite naive for what I think an FBI agent should be but she does solve the crime and it is gripping from the beginning right to the end.
I was shocked at who the culprit was, I really had no idea. And I need to find out who this mystery man who is basically stalking Emma is now!
The narrator was great and projected the book perfectly.
I look forward to the rest of the series. show less

Mysterious Cabin 13
The Girl in Cabin 13 is a hard to put down mystery that leaves the reader guessing until the very end. There are a couple of chapters that look back into Emma’s past which interesting yet have no relevance to the storyline and how quickly Emma gets together with another character from him giving her a ride home to them being together almost 100 percent of the time that stops this from being a 5 star review.

My goodness! How many flashbacks can you cram into one book? I've been really enjoying this series but this one not so much.
