I'll be honest, I found the author's writing elitist, patronising, judgmental and hypocritical. What presents as an amazing journey from island to island and continent to continent, is ultimately derailed by her continual assessment of others and how they choose to holiday, socialise and live. Perhaps she sums it up best at the end of the book when she states "...the whole journey was like that really. I'd go somewhere and try to make sense of it, attach labels and then move on, but so much show more of the time I probably got it wrong."(p.253). This is exactly how it reads. Regretfully, her conclusion to the book (the last two pages) is beautifully written. show less
