Short biography
At work, Endi Webb thinks up ways to thwart terrorists with science. In his spare work time, he also pitches space missions to NASA. Somewhere in between all that and 2 cute little terrorists at home, Endi writes fiction. Fantasy, Sci-fi ...yeah, he does it all. Except romance. Endi sucks at romance. Just ask Mrs Endi. But Mrs Endi is an editor, and among her withering editorial comments come gems like: "Oh! I've read traditionally published books WAY worse than this!" Endi's favorite authors include Ursula LeGuin, and Isaac Asimov, and seeks to emulate them in his writing--in fact, if you were to refer to him as LeGuin's and Asimov's secret love child, he would acknowledge your praise, sigh, and say, "but I wish dad would have kept me in his will..." Visit Endi on Facebook and www.endiwebb.com. Sign up for the mailing list to be notified of his new releases. Leave sarcastic comments on his facebook page. Tweet him. He'll probably respond, since Endi will do anything to get out of writing for a few minutes--cause as much as he loves it, it's hard work, ya know?

Fun read. Webb weaves a thrilling and entertaining Military Space Adventure that meets all the standard expectations and provides some powerful emotional scenes as well. The only reason that I couldn't give it five stars was that I did see a couple of the plot twists coming, but that could just be me. Sets the framework for an intriguing conspiracy in later books. Overall, an enjoyable piece of Space Opera escapism that I plan on returning to with the later books.
A decent, but not great space opera. Aliens have invaded the solar system and the humans are fighting back. Unfortunately the aliens control Earth, making it difficult, but the humans persevere. That reminds me of the plot of Battlefield Earth, which is never a good thing. There are some good characters here and a real space opera feel, but the action is a bit simple and the aliens are total cardboard cutouts.
good world building - nicely alien aliens (so far) - good character development - nicely structured military sacrifice - realistic view of politics and its pitfalls. However I am not connecting with the characters.

Simply outstanding...

Great characters, interesting premise, and well written. I'm always excited to find a new author to follow and Webb just became the newest.
