Thank you to Tantor Audio for an advance copy of the audiobook.

I really didn’t feel an emotional connection between them. Just like cutesy lust? They’re both famous people and he asks questions like he’s not a person who realizes that he’s in the public now. I’m not famous and I know paparazzi follow celebrities intrusively and horribly and he acts like it’s brand new information.

A lot of this felt dated somehow. He’s calling himself a pussy during his pep talks to himself show more which I didn’t super love. She called her sister a slut shamey name twice within a few pages.

He just wanted to put his head down and make the MLB team and work and the locker room culture of this book was a little rough. His teammates wanted him to find a woman and relax a little. He gets a date with the heroine of the book; they send him someone else in a corset and heels in the middle of the night as a joke. Then they tell him to put his head down and work. Like what do these people want?

Stud Muffin is the second book in the Donner Bakery #2 by Jiffy Kate. Each book in the series can be read as stand-alone, so you don't have to read the first book to begin this one.

I liked Stud Muffin more than I liked Baking me Crazy, but to me at least the book was not without some faults. At some point, I questioned the sanity of our heroine and I had had some serious doubts about her. To an extent, her behavior was justified. It's not every day that you catch your ex on your marital bed show more having intercourse with another woman. I didn't like how everyone was against Tempest especially when the cheating ex and his mistress where in the same room. It's not her fault he cheated. It helped move the plot, but a better way could have been found.

I liked Cage though. He was a good man and someone who will make Tempest happy. I liked how slowly their relationship progressed since it made it more believable for me. I would have liked less focus on the ex and more focus on the present and the romance though.

I believe that the writing has improved from book 1 and I hope for an even better book three.

This book handled a couple of touchy subjects with strength and grace. If you have/had an abusive parent for whatever reason it can really hit close to home. I'm trying very hard not to leave any spoilers here... because there is so much more I'd like to say but just know if you are in that situation you are not alone.

What a delightful story. Even though this love story happens fast it didn't feel like it. There was a depth to it that I really appreciated. Fantastic premise and a setting to die for. I liked the characters. They were real. Even the secondary characters were essential to the story. I hope that many of them get their own book.
