This pulpy, topical, violent story by Rick Remender is just flippin' astounding. If you love the films Hell or High Water or No Country for Old Men, you'll love this story of a woman trying to save her father from death and the lengths she has to go to to do so.
This high-octane, heart-pounding thriller is equal parts No Country for Old Men and Mad Max: Fury Road. It's a speed chase story that addresses the horrors of human trafficking and organ harvesting. It's a heart-pounding, tear-jerking tale about what one woman would do to save her father and to help complete strangers. Sure, this tale is brutal but its got guts and heart.
A primitive village are on the lookout for monsters and a straying member of the Luminae, female powered warriors, has appeared in their vicinity. The other Lumina are attacked by demons and there is also a dragon-mage involved who is very powerful.

Battles ensue with lasting damage to some of the characters and one of the Luminae dies to be replaced by her successor.

The artwork is not clear all the time about who is who nor what is happening. The use of colour/shading made it difficult to show more admire the artwork in places. The lettering in the digital edition, read using Adobe Digital Editions, was very small.

Suitably engaging, this ends with the promise of more to come. I was quite impressed.

If you're looking for an action packed comic with a little wholesome twist then this is the comic for you. Following Glory Owen, a girl raised off the grid by truckers, or one specific trucker, it begins with a seemingly unrelated scene. A man in a restaurant orders an obscene amount of burgers, the workers get upset, he kills them with liquid nitrogen. That's an interesting start, right?
