Another booklet that emphasises the need to understand maps. 'The one-inch map is the one most used by Scouts, and is the one you should get know the first', page 3. So,why when I was a scout, did the scoutmaster think that 20 inches represented 8 miles, extending our hike into fear and exhaustion?
Im Gegensatz zu vielen englischsprachigen Büchern zu dem Thema mit zum Teil sehr aufwändige Vorrichtungen, werden hier kleine, schnell gemachte Vorrichtungen und einfache zeitsparende Vorgehensweisen gezeigt. Fast jeder dieser kurzen Tips wird durch eine Skizze veranschaulicht. Das Buch ist thematisch gegliedert - von Handwerkzeugen über Elektrowerkzeugen und Stationären Maschinen bis zur Oberflächenbehandlung. Ein Index fehlt leider.
A practical guide to tying many sorts of knots and splices. Can't say I've used it much, but I keep thinking it is a handy guide to have.
