As a story about a woman investigating a cult this isn't too bad but it had moments where it just felt a little too mundane for a story about a psychic investigator. Elizabeth Chase is brought into an investigation at the instigation of her boyfriend Tom McGowan, one of his ex-girlfriends is missing and he has a bad feeling about it all. She joined a cult and seems to have disappeared.
It's interesting, the end was quite a shocker, but overall it just underwhelmed.

this is an interesting story of a psychic investigator called in to investigate a death what appears to be an accidental death, by a cop, Tom McGowan who is an old friend of the victim, he's convinced that it's not an open and shut case and as Elizabeth unravels Janice Freeman's life she finds that there are secrets and lies all over the place.
I liked the story and the character and enjoyed the interaction between the two main characters, there was enough of all the ingredients in the story show more to keep things interesting and I particularly liked how the main character included her mythical and paranormal issues into her life rather than keeping it seperate as often happens. show less

Elizabeth Chase is hired by the father of her boyfriend's ex girlfriend. Jen has not been heard from in years - she joined The Bliss Project and disappeared. Elizabeth goes undercover and joins the 'cult' hoping to find Jen, or what happened to her. I really like Elizabeth Chase and the world she lives in (aside from the bad guys she brings down). I will definitely read the next in the series.
A rapist claims yet another victim and Elizabeth Chase is drawn into it. The cops bring her in almost as a last resort because she seems to be able to see details no-one else can about the mysteries. Also a friend of hers is involved. As the rapes continue the rapist gets more brutal.
This isn't a bad series, but the main character is a lot too central without being pivotal enough really. She's interesting but it just didn't quite get me, I do intend to read more but sometimes I wonder if the show more character grows. show less
