Yoshi Yoshitani

I think this is the first of this new wave of DC Graphic Novels for Kids (and I'm including the short-lived Zoom imprint) that I enjoyed from start to finish. The stylized art is cool; the story had some nice twists, humor, and Easter eggs for longtime DC fans; and Zatanna is just a fun character to get to know all over again. Nice!

Of the recent MG/YA standalones from DC, this one is better than the others I've read. Really cute art, a nice plot that kept me interested, and great pacing. It also didn't read as young as the others, though still geared to the younger audience, which was nice.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this deck. I'm a sucker for folktale/mythology decks and this deck's quality (especially for the price point; cardstock is thick, matte linen-finish, the box is simple but lovely, the included book gives you as much as you need though I do recommend purchasing the companion storybook), its diversity, the vibrancy and beauty of its art make it an instant favorite.

I really enjoyed this read. I loved both the diversity of this read but also the plot. I loved the setting of this book so much and found the mansion full of secrets to be so fun. I also also normally a big fan of animal as a sidekick and loved this bunny so much. I also loved the characters in this read and love how this book fleshed out. I thought the end of the story was a bit rushed but really hope we get more books show more in this series in the future. I really loved the main character. show less
