half of my reading experience was just desperately wanting to take them both by the shoulders and Shake Them Violently until they found some sense and talked to each other properly. then again, i remember also being horrible at communicating around that age, so very much a pot-kettle situation. a fun continuation though, and i was impressed by the author's ability to make maya incredibly frustrating while still making her motivations and meddling clearly understandable--i actually really show more liked her, despite how insistent she was on making herself The Roadblock of the damn story show less
The cliffhanger from last volume pays off much differently than I imagined, but the rest of the book continues in the comfortable groove this series has found: a little relationship drama, a little workplace drama, a little family drama. It's just a pleasant visit with likable characters.
I was lukewarm on the series after reading the first volume back in 2017, but I always meant to read the next one, and somehow seven years passed before I finally returned to it this week. Now I'm now all show more caught up with the series, and while the next volume doesn't come out until June of next year, I'm much more eager to return to it.
FOR REFERENCE:
Originally serialized in Japanese magazine Canna beginning with issue #75.
Contents: Chapters 6-10 -- My Little Boy show less

After things fell apart last volume, the guys spend a lot of time moping here as events around them slowly conspire to push them to actually communicate with one another. A couple dumb coincidences will be forgiven for the sake of helping the story reach its predictable but satisfying conclusion.
But the saga is not over, as I have the first two volumes of the next story cycle on hand from the library.

Originally serialized in the Japanese manga Canna, issues #50-69.
Contents: show more Chapters 11-14 -- Final Chapter -- Afterglow -- Gift -- Afterword show less

This second volume works better for me than the first as we get past the meet-cute and see the main characters struggle with their feelings toward each other and their inability to communicate said feelings. It's fairly generic romance -- with a jealous rival inserted to help move things along -- but one partner's hearing impairment adds an interesting dimension, and the creator seems committed to exploring it fully.
I have the volumes of the next run of the series, Limit, on hand from the show more library, so I'll be continuing on with it tomorrow. show less
