Fat Girl Truths: Practical Weight Loss Advice for Overweight and Obese Curvy Women by Jamie Anderson
Special thanks to my GoodReads friend Lisa, without whom I would never have stumbled across this lifesaving book!
Like most fat girls, I’ve read a lot of weight-loss and diet books. Atkins? Check! Eat More, Weigh Less: Dr. Dean Ornish's Life Choice Program for Losing Weight Safely While Eating Abundantly? Check! South Beach? Check! Weight Watchers? Check, and check again, and check yet again! Low-glycemic diet? Check! French Women Don't Get Fat: The Secret of Eating for Pleasure? Check, show more mais oui!
But this book by Jamie Anderson actually comes from the perspective of someone who has been there. She doesn’t subscribe to a lot of gimmickry or expensive gadgets or mail-order foods — in other words, she comes up with something a fat girl could actually undertake and stay with. She even provides some filling, nutritious, diet-conscious recipes to end the book!
A slim volume — really, no pun intended! — but packed with great advice for dieting, motivation, hydration, exercise, and even those perilous year-end calorie-laden parties. Best of all, these pearls of wisdom cost just 99 cents — or even free for those with a Kindle Unlimited subscription. Recommended for every girl who sighs with discouragement when she gets on a scale. show less
