I have never hated a book as much as I have hated this book. It was a wannabe V.C. Andrews’s book that was all over the place.
The same info was told again and again. I couldn’t understand why she didn’t tell her grandparents right away. Why didn’t the grandparents just take her to the lawyer instead of waiting for cops to show up? The social worker scene was a joke. I figured out in Chapter 9 the truth about Sarah. Madison was a brat through the whole book. The transitions between show more the scenes didn’t make sense. It was rushed in a great amount of the book. The main character treated everyone like crap and only carried about herself. The plot change in Chapter 11 made no sense at all. There was nothing leading up to it or foreshadowing it. In Chapter 12 it didn’t make any sense about what she was going to do about Annabella. I didn’t understand why in Chapter 15 she didn’t get her cellphone. Sarah had to be a fake doctor because she should have known about a simple medical condition. The scene between Madison and her mom was awful and was rushed. The ending was stupid. The book was just awful. I made myself finish the book, but I hated it the whole time. show less

I understand that independently published authors have to publish more often in order to make any money at all, but to do this by breaking what could be one good sized book into five different parts seems like a bad deal. The premise is interesting, and the story itself is pretty well-written, but there are things Ivy does that seem very counter intuitive. **Some spoilers**
For example, telling her best friend about the whole reliving thing, then insisting on going to look for the body sounds show more like a fast way to become the primary suspect. Additionally, she avoids Simon, and doesn't seem to give a second thought to the fact that her children will now never exist. Yes, if it was me, I might still avoid my killer, but I would also mourn the loss of my kids.
In the end, I don't know if I care enough about these characters to continue reading their story.
