A bit weird in some parts but overall pretty entertaining. I've never read the Nurse Matilda character that McPhee is based off so I am not able to comment on how the book and movie compare.
A very enjoyable sequel to the original film, with the same cast; set 18 years later, made 14 years after the first. Toula and Ian have a seventeen-year-old daughter Paris, who - like her mother - is struggling with the contrast between American culture and her Greek family who are rather too involved and intrusive at times. Unlike her mother she's quite outgoing and looks cool rather than being a bit nerdy.

The wedding in this film, however, refers to a different, older pair - rewatching show more less than five years after the first time, we remembered what happened, but it didn't spoil the enjoyment at all. We had forgotten most of the details, and appreciated, again, the side comments and jokes about Greek language.

Rated 12, and unlikely to be of interest to younger children, but it's really quite a family-orientated film with no 'strong' language, and most sexual references involving marriage. The only slightly steamy scene involves a married couple, and they are interrupted before anything much happens.

Definitely recommended if you have seen the first film.

This is a children's film, of course, somewhat in the 'Mary Poppins' style. There is some excellent acting, particularly by the youngest child, which raises this out of the ordinary.

More than a hint of magic, and a great deal of slapstick humour that tends to appeal to children of about six and above, although my grandson at three very much enjoyed it, once it got going.

Recommended for family viewing if you don't mind some extremely badly behaved children at the start, and a somewhat show more contrived ending.

The ending was a little bit weak for my taste, but this movie deserves 5 stars: fantastic screenplay, superb acting, terrific sets/costumes/makeup, appropriate and well-designed special effects...
