Ferguson’s Careers in Focus Nursing is an educational document that can teach and inform a reader of all the possible nursing careers in today’s medical society. I chose this book when I was trying to find a book on Nurse Anesthetists, but this was the only book available. THERE IS APSOLUTELY NO PICTURES! No graphs or anything other than WORDS. This book answered a few of my questions but not many. As far as informational books go, this book did give me an idea of key elements of each show more branch of nursing. This book would be helpful if the reader is trying to decide which branch of nursing they were interested in. The average Flesch-Kincaid grade level is 14.7, so this book may be geared toward a higher education bound person. show less
Wow! Would I ever like to become a librarian, but not any of the brands of the profession described here complete with pictures of professionals standing at catalogs and support personnel using computers! And, the wonderful thing about library media specialists, according to this book is they help folks find information. Now that is a modern idea along with our work with filmstrips. Well, at least this is about as modern as the description of our work on Wikipedia. Perhaps a group of us show more ought to get together and do something to present a cutting edge view of what we really do. If we can’t bother to change the stereotypes in our own collections, then perhaps we deserve what others think about us. This is the kind of book to weed from your collection if you have a copy. Quick, before anyone things they have a winner here. show less
