I decided to give the "public choice" shool of political theory a try and this seemed like the best book for that purpose. But I quickly came to the conclusion that there's no real value in these economic models of law and government. I don't recognize reality in their theoretical reflection and I don't think they can aid anyone's understanding of politics. Towards the end of the book the author switches to a more descriptive mode when he argues that bureaucracies will always find a way to show more increase their budgets and that constraining them is the biggest challenge of government. But even on this interesting subject his constricted treatment lacked any real insight. show less
La show more lettura non è semplice; anzi.
