I loved this book. It is set up like a comic book almost which makes the story very digestible and easy to read. It is the story of Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins and their trip to the moon. If gives awesome details like such as long the mission took, what they did while they were there, and how they communicated with each other and the people watching on Earth. It isn't too long and keeps the reader engaged the whole time wondering what is going to happen next. I also show more loved being able to look up the real pictures after reading about them in the book! show less
This book is a fun way for young children to learn about the events of the newsboys strike and hopefully become interested and empowered in their own right.
The Attack on Pearl Harbor: December 7, 1941 (24-Hour History) by Nel Yomtov (2014-01-01) by Nel Yomtov
This book goes into detail about how Pearl Harbor happened and the things that I feel are not commonly learned about the attack. Prior to the attack happening, the U.S. and Japan were in talks of signing a peace treaty. Emperor Hirohito approved Admiral Isoroku decision to attack the U.S. fleet. The reason that they attacked the U.S. fleet was so that they could get resources from other countries. Japan desired to become a world power which was the reason they had to get other resources such show more as oil, gas, and other raw materials. Prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor the U.S. was considering going to war with Japan. The U.S. got some revenge on Japan six months after the attack when they fought at the Battle of Midway where they sank four Japanese carriers and destroyed 250 planes.
This book was interesting and taught me a lot about the attack of Pearl Harbor. I learned some really interesting facts about Pearl Harbor. This book got me interested in the history by teaching with the written narration and further bringing it to life with the illustrations. It also teaches you a lot about history in a very short read. I knew some things about pearl harbor but this taught me a lot of interesting facts. The thing that I found most interesting was how The U.S. and Japan were talking about signing a peace treaty. Another fascinating thing was how the Japanese embassy in Hawaii started burning documents and code books. show less

This graphic novel serves as an entertaining, simplified retelling of the classic Shakespearean story. The fairy king, Oberon, asks mischief-maker fairy Puck to play a trick on his wife, fairy queen Titania. Oberon gives Puck a flower whose juice will make man or fairy fall in love with the first being that he or she lays eyes upon. Puck turns an actor into a donkey, then leads him to Titania and makes the fairy queen fall in love with the donkey. Then Puck uses the flower to cause mischief show more between some human lovers who are wandering in the woods at night. But his magic makes two human men fall in love with the same woman, Helena, causing them to challenge each other to a fight to the death. Meanwhile, poor Hermia loses her true love when the flower’s spell makes him love Helena. But fairy king Oberon learns of Puck’s mistake and gives him another magic flower to set everything right. Oberon also releases Titania of her love for the man-turned-donkey. In the end, everything is sorted out, and no love is left unrequited. All the lovers are married in joyous celebration, and even the fairies celebrate. show less
