This is a very practical, no-nonsense book that aims to provide libraries with tools to help them better promote their activities. Although it is clearly geared towards small public libraries, larger libraries can benefit from some of the insights provided by this book, particularly regarding word-of-mouth marketing.
Professional development/nonfiction. Quick and dirty overview of marketing techniques, including lots of practical advice on the use of social media and writing press releases/media alerts. Could've used more "best practices" examples, but this will inspire you to look around for more ideas.
Excellent guide to marketing library programs and services, from WOMM (which can and should start right at the Circulation Desk) to the difference between CMYK and RGB color formulas - and if you don't know what WOMM, CMYK and RGB are then you definitely need this book. And for a fun take on RGB, read Jasper Fforde's alternate future fantasy "Shades of Grey".
This is a cute little book that would be great for young children. It counts to 10, having different animals get on the bus each time. It ends with the bee getting on the bus while everyone else gets off the bus. It is a big book so it would be great to read to a whole class.
