Drafting for the Creative Quilter is a must-have reference book for any quilter, beginner or experienced. The book starts out with basics for beginning quilters and designers. As the book progresses, the blocks become more complicated and fun! Using a compass, protractor, calculator and other small supplies, Sally Collins directs you in designing hexagon boxes, winding way blocks, fan blocks, many star blocks, double wedding rings, off center log cabins and pineapple blocks. Don't worry show more about doing the math! Collins does this for you! Most of the blocks and quilts appear complicated-looking, but can be learned in this book! It is called [b:Borders Bindings Edges|94037|Borders, Bindings and Edges The Art of Finishing Your Quilt|Sally Collins|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1171271364s/94037.jpg|90649]. First, there are excellent pictures of Collins’ quilts, but include other artist’s work as well. This is a show more book about techniques. Collins believes that precision piecing is important and this book thoroughly explains how create different types of borders, including mitered corners. She also discusses bindings (thus the title) and has lengthy discussions on different types of finishing.
