Ann R. Blakeslee

In Colorado in 1881 Renny,an Irish son of a gold miner, who has a soft heart, takes a Chinese boy new in town under his wing. He loses friends and earns his father's ire. Another story about a son who wants his father's approval, the characters are sound but the writing is somewhat stilted.

It move along nicely, however, and would be a good choice for information on prejudice and immigrant situations.
