The concept to this math book was to learn addition by using dominos. Dominos has 2 ends, the top may have 5 dots and the bottom may have 4 dots, so you would add 5+4. That would be on the left page. Then on the right page, since the total was 9, you would have to find a domino with the total of 9 spots, so that involved counting again. This book didn't really contain layers of meaning, but it did enable natural connections to math and helped provide opportunities for the reader to use math show more for authentic purposes. It didn't really have a sense of wonder, but it could engage the reader. show less
