Excellent photographs of Lansing over the course of a century, with decent captions explaining them. This book makes me want to wander around downtown Lansing figuring out where specific photographs were taken, both to see what's there now and to try to imagine the older setting. Since the book does a very good job of attaching addresses to photographs that project would be feasible, though I rather wish the authors had more often indicated the building/whatever that's at that location now. show more ("Now" being 2002; some of those would certainly be obsolete.)

Since I found a few captions I could quibble with I expect folks with different expertise would quibble about others, but I didn't notice any serious inaccuracies. show less
