The SuperFairies of Peaseblossom Woods are Silk, Rose, Star and Berry. Each have their own superskills, such as Berry having super sight so she can see for miles, Silk being able to spin webs that can be used in animal rescues, Rose has healing kisses and Star can create dazzling brightness to brighten up dark spaces. There job is keep the animals safe and perform rescues when they need to. There are four stories in this book, one per season. Each involves a rescue of some sort of one of the show more animals that lives in Peaseblossom Woods. The great thing about these fairies is that they are all equal. They work together to perform their rescues giving each other tips and encouragement along the way. They all use their strength and powers in every rescue.
Silk, Rose, Star and Berry fly around in fairycopter on their rescue missions. They have a Strawberry computer and rescue packs and yet at the same time they live in a tree, make jams for the Summer Fair and all the animals talk. It’s a great mix of fairy power, animal love and simplicity. I love that all the animals are friends, even ones that would probably try to eat each other in real life. It is just a sweet group of stories especially for little girls who love fairies. The illustrations are amazing. They are done in soft colours with a lot of detail. The expressions on the faces of the animals and the superfairies show a lot of emotion. The back of the book has a couple of activities. One is a quiz you can take to see which Superfairy you are, while another is a section "All About Fairies".
This would be a good beginning chapter book for little girls or anyone interested in fairies. It could also be used to teach about teamwork. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via Netgalley. show less
