Thirty-five playwrights, starting with Ibsen, and Ending weith Max Frisch, and forrty-five of their plays. The translations into english are all from productions on the English Language plays and are thos often used in revivals over the years. This antholoigy was assembled in 1961, and is well worth the read, though hard to accomplish in a single session. There are biographical sketches of the authors.
