Honey Phillips

This was a really enjoyable Rapunzel Retelling that can be enjoyed as I standalone story (I haven't read Alien Awakening yet), although reading more of the series adds more background for characters who are mentioned from previous books but aren't main characters here. Baylin & Liora make a great couple in this story and it's interesting to see how they develop their bond despite the initial interference of the towers protective AI "ARIS". The AI made an interesting character as well that show more felt complex with seemingly human emotions. Liora also had an animal companion named Pip that was entertaining as well. I look forward to reading many more by this author.

The author uses the phrase “uncertain light” three times in the first few chapters. She’s also obsessed with ensuring we all know how tiny and fragile the FMC is. This was another fun, safe, simple read. It ended with a HEA of marriage and pregnancy which I don’t love. Also it freaked me out when the swamp monster would return from the swamp to start finger blasting her with no discussion of washing his hands first. I know it’s fiction but seriously, it’s gross.

I really enjoyed this story and getting to know Finnar better after his brief introduction in Tomlin although it isn't necessary to read that book first and this story is a standalone in a whole new series. This book was so much fun and I loved the way it blended a Fairy Tale Retelling of Little Red Riding Hood with an alien shifter romance so well. Scarlett and Finnar made a really nice couple and I enjoyed getting to know them both. The epilogue at the end was fun and I am really looking show more forward to continuing this series as it blends two genres I love (Fairy Tale Retelllings and Alien Romances) together so well. The next book Alien Huntsman: An Alien Shifter Romance is supposed to be about Scarlett's friend Tessa & Korrin so I look forward to getting to know them both better and maybe even see more about how Finnar & Scarlett are doing in the future.

This was a really enjoyable standalone story set in the small town of Harmony Glen that focuses on Thallos (Satyr) & Marigold (Human Florist). Both characters have complicated emotional issues from their pasts that they help each other work through and I enjoyed seeing how they developed as individuals as well as how they developed as a couple. This story also features characters from previous books in this series but it isn't necessary to have read them to enjoy this story. The epilogue at show more the end was a lot of fun and I look forward to reading many more books by Honey Phillips in the future.
