I really enjoyed the book “Fine As We Are” by Algy Craig Hall. The author took the common problem of anxiety when getting a new sibling, and turned it into a gentle and joyful story about Little Frog. The illustrations were a very important part of the book. The illustrations of the tiny frogs leaping, dancing, somersaulting, and flying across the page help depict the joy that Little Frog and his mom felt about their family. In addition, the simple sentences, big font, and spaced out show more words are perfect for emerging readers. All of the words are written a blank white background, and there is significant space in between each word and each line, which makes the text much easier for young children to track while they read. This was a very calming and witty story that shows children what it means to be a good big brother. The main idea of the story is to help ease the anxiety of having a new sibling. show less
Horrifyingly hilarious, in the style of Frog in the Bog. Dino eats Lunch eats Snack eats Bite, but it all turns out all right in the end, with a giant BURP.
I looove the illustrations in this book. Especially the pages that show three hundred baby frogs hopping all over the place at once.
