This was another fun romantic read. I am a big fan of Bonnie Blythe and her romantic reads and this was another story that didn’t disappoint. Sara Anderson finds herself back in Buell Creek, Oregon, a “sleepy hamlet nestled in the Cascade Mountains”. She is back for her Grandfather’s funeral and staying with Aunt Hattie. She has inherited her Grandfather’s property and discovers that the person who is renting the the smaller house on Grandpa’s property is Brian Farris, a man Sara show more once thought she loved when she was a college student. Brian then was someone she “ thought about constantly and wasn’t content unless they were touching. Looking back, she wondered if she’d been more obsessed than in love.” Sara later realized that she had turned her back on God to be with Brian. After overhearing a conversation Brian had with his roommate about her, she left him a note and walked away from Brian. Now years later Brian wants to show Sara he is a changed man, someone who has found the Lord and now wants to win Sara back. He ends up helping her turn the old house into a bed and breakfast. At first Sara doesn’t want his attention, then discovers that he really has changed and then gets frustrated that Brian isn’t showing her enough attention. Brian never stopped loving Sara and now his hope was that they could restore their relationship God’s way. I liked the way these two people grew to love each other all over again, this time the proper way. Another well written romance. show less
Charity Conrad is a Barista in a coffee house where her perky personality seems to bring sunshine into everyone's life, based on the fullness of the tip jar. But her perkiness masks some of the loneliness she feels inside. Daniel Tabor loves getting coffee from Charity. After a little game of 'give me your smile' he decides to get to know her better. Charity is unprepared for the feelings Daniel evokes. He loves family and wants to see Charity reconcile with her sisters. Charity knows that's show more impossible. About as impossible as a future with Daniel.
I thoroughly enjoyed Project Love. I was curious to find out about Charity's life and how things turned out for her. Daniel was the kind of guy any girl would wish for. I liked the way he challenged Charity (even though it made her mad). It made me think of my own husband who does the same thing and I too get mad but it's helped me to be a better person (as I think it did in Charity's case as well). I also loved Daniel's faith and the way it impacted his life and those around him. This whole series was really about reconciliation and forgiveness of three estranged sisters. The ending was completely satisfying and brought all three stories to an excellent conclusion! I so appreciated all the splashes of humor especially at the end. You could read this as a stand alone but after reading all three books in the series, I would recommend reading them in order most especially to enjoy the ending of Project Love!

Claire is an everyday girl who is of the opinion that she's not really worthy of the love of a good man or any man really. Sam is new in town having just moved away from a past he would rather forget. They first meet in the ER when Claire has an accident with a skateboard and Sam is the ER nurse that's on duty. When she thinks she's dying and thinks he's a doctor (hilarious scene) she reaches up, grabs Sam's shirt and kisses him full on the lips trying to fulfill her mother's wish for her to show more meet a doctor. She is horrified when she sees Sam standing in the church lobby as memories of the ER assault her. How could she face him again? Besides a good looking specimen like Sam would never be interested in her. As Sam pursues her she finds herself loving the attention and maybe dreaming just a little of what life would be like with a man like Sam. But what happens when Sam's past blows into town?
I thoroughly enjoyed Claire's Not So Gothic Romance! Bonnie's writing was crisp and the zippy dialog kept me turning pages. Claire was easy to identify with and Sam, well who couldn't fall in love with Sam! The story was both funny and touching. It's one you won't want to miss. show less

‘Texas Whirlwind’ is the story of Emma, a young single woman who has adopted some toddler twins from Haiti. Emma takes the twins to a local doctor for a checkup, only to discover that he is a former boyfriend, Travis. The story alternates their viewpoints, as well as that of one or two other characters.
Travis is very good with the twins, and it's clear almost from the beginning that he and Emma will get together eventually. Much of the book is then taken up with their introspective show more wonderings, which I found a bit tiresome after a while.
There’s a dramatic incident around the middle of the book, leading to a great deal of tension in the latter half, and I thought that was well-paced and exciting. I couldn’t quite believe in the villains as they’re one-dimensional and there doesn’t seem to be any real motivation for what they do, nor when, at the end, one of them has a change of heart. I thought the ending, while in a sense satisfactory (and predictable) was rather too abrupt.
The Christian side of the book is almost incidental. The main characters belong to a church, and prayer is seen as essential (and sometimes transcribed). But it's not at all pushy, Christian-wise.
Overall I thought it a pleasant read; the adoption theme is quite unusual, and the two main characters, introspection apart, are likeable and believable. show less
