This is one of a number of evangelistic booklets by the author. Ultimate Questions [https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1297811559] is probably my favourite booklet to use after a conversation with a non-believer.
This booklet focuses exclusively on the after-life. It begins by examining popular myths about death: everyone goes to heaven, some will be wiped out completely, reincarnation etc. The author then moves on to examine what the Bible says about Judgement Day and Heaven and Hell. He show more focuses more on Hell as Jesus did! He then moves on to explain how we can "escape the wrath to come" by trusting Jesus for forgiveness of our sin.
The author uses a lot of examples and stories to back up what he is saying and to make it more relevant. As this booklet is somewhat dated, some contemporary stories could be added.
This is a good booklet for someone specifically wanting to know about the afterlife and it does present the Gospel. It is a little wordy in places. It isn't Blanchard's best effort but it can still be utilised in the right circumstance. show less

I stopped reading this book early on. The first chapter or two contained so many errors of fact and interpretation that I saw no point in continuing. I just skimmed into it again, as I entered the book onto this database. I found the passage on "the atomists," and the author's treatment of Epicurus. He doesn't understand Epicurean theology at all. He imputes to Epicurus the notion that there were many worlds, but no gods. Epicurus, of course, made a point of acknowledging the existence of show more gods. He just reasoned that they would have no interest in us, and we should not worship them. A far cry from Blanchard's idiotic quick summary of Epicurus's philosophy. show less
Evolution means atheism according to Blanchard, but does it have to? I think not. Lots of intriguing quotes but not from original sources, and he fails to face up to the genetic evidence. Basically I think his approach to the bible is wrong.
This is definitely one of the best evangelistic booklets ever written. It clearly explains the Gospel message for those seeking the truth. It is short and easy to read and addresses the objections that a typical person might have using Scripture. I especially like the section explaining why religious tradition can't help.
This book is short and to the point but covers everything a seeker will need to know for salvation. I recommend buying a pack of 10 (just £1 each) and giving them to those show more you have conversations with.
