Another year of cricket, another "Wisden Cricketers' Almanack" to tell us all about it. 2019 was the 156th edition of the Almanack, as "Wisden" continues to stretch its record as the longest running sports annual in the world.
While "Wisden" covers all the major international matches, the most interest is in the minor matches and happenings, including a parrot stopping play in Leicestershire, a prize goat was mauled to death by a leopard in India, and the ongoing travails of Adelaide's South show more Road Cricket Club. Meanwhile, it's great to see the growing role of cricket in Nepal and Bhutan, although Kenya's sad slide from Word Cup semi-finalist to its current situation is regrettable. show less

Wisden 2012 - the 149th edition - contains coverage of every first-class game in every cricket nation, and reports and scorecards for all Tests and ODIs. Including the eagerly awaited Notes by the Editor, the Cricketers of the Year awards, and some of the finest sports writing of the year - such as the brilliant obituaries - together with trenchant opinion, compelling features and comprehensive records, Wisden Cricketers' Almanack truly is a "must-have" for every cricket fan. A perennial show more bestseller in the UK. "There can't really be any doubt about the cricket book of the year, any year: it's obviously Wisden". Andrew Baker in the Daily Telegraph show less
Nothing particularly original or good in this book - in my view.
Cracking read of the Bazball Revolution with Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum.
