Victoria Osteen's great character was displayed throughout the book. I enjoyed the example of how after a funeral, she had asked her husband to mail off the massive number of thank you notes for all the support and prayers. She told her husband that she felt like she could "move on" past the grieving by doing this. Her husband put the notes in a tennis bag, and forgot. When Victoria discovered them, she could have been angry and punitive. Instead, she chose to forgive him for making a show more mistake, when it would have been so much easier and more understandable to react. Throughout the book, she gives really good tips on how to react in a Christian manner under all kinds of trying circumstances. Reading the book, you also get a "feel" for how Victoria really tries to support and understand her husband even when he seems to be ignoring her, but what he is doing is the work of the Lord. She is definitely an example of what God wanted women to be in the Bible, even though no human is perfect. I was wondering if I would learn anything "new" from the book, and I felt like I did. It was very well-written. I would recommend this highly to other women, even single females on the brink of marriage. May you be blessed and inspired! show less
This was a comfortable, feel good, self-improvement book. I know it was full of cliches but I liked it anyway. I listened to it on audio and it was read by the author. It was full of common sense things, but then, so are most self-improvement type books. We still need reminding sometimes.
I really enjoyed the book. It was very positive and offered practical and Biblical-based advice.
The book main focus is on values. How important keeping friendship is. The word choice that was chosen for the book is good and I believe that any upper elementary students can read it. I enjoyed reading the book and looking at the illustrations.
