'Perhaps you are reading this book because you know you are a foot and shoe fetishist (...) Perhaps you are reading this book to better understand a seemingly unusual pleasure that your lover is into.'

Well, whatever your motivation to pick this up this is so far the best introductory book I have read on foot fetish! Indeed, written by a woman herself fetishist here's a great insight and understanding of the kink, full of broad and practical ideas and tips to indulge depending on your show more mindset.

I particularly like her point, nailed through and through:

'(...) fetish pleasure is independent from the desire for dominance or submission. We just combine it as it suits our other sexual tastes.'

Exactly!

The author perfectly understands that, whether you are into BDSM or just see it as an alluring and sexy way to sparkle your relationship, indulging in foot fetish is just a way to serve and strenghten a deep intimacy. Acknowledging thus not only the kinkiness of the fetish but, also its romantic side, she goes beyond sex to give suggestions on various ways to lovingly pamper your partner (massage, home spa, pedicure...). When so many books on the topic are just fixated on femdom, believe me, such a nice and useful take is more than appreciated!

Cherry on the cake, there's not only many tips on how to care for various types of shoes but, also resources at the end for the more curious to go and delve into (I know I will!).

'The Toybag Guide to Foot and Shoe Worship' surely is a light read, but it's very informative and packed with relevant ideas. A great little book.

Based on a review I had read, I was expecting a novel that included all of my favorite elements: Sci Fi Cyberpunk Neo-Tokyo Kinky Sex. Midori's book included all of that (and more), but was most definitely not a novel. It is a series of short stories based on the same setting, with loose ties, and a few parallel themes tying them together. As science fiction goes, I enjoyed most of the stories. The author successfully captured the cyber-punk mood and rhythm, and the often predatory element show more of its citizenry. Midori is clearly a talented writer, and I look forward to a novel along similar lines. The short stories couldn't quite carry through on some of my other interests. For example, I would've preferred a more detailed discussion of her version of Neo-Tokyo, and its stratified society. As for the sex, as other's have mentioned, it was pretty hot stuff--well beyond vanilla--let the buyer beware. Midori's book was quite reminiscent of Bacigalupi's "Windup Girl," without the detailed descriptions of the devastating effects of climate change on economies and societies. It had the same dystopian tone, including that element of hopelessness, and actors with few redeeming moral qualities. All in all, a worthy effort, though quite short for those looking to spend a bit more time in Midori's Neo-Tokyo. show less
A useful book with lots of illustrations and step by step instructions. It isn't perfect. Sometimes, you can't work out what knots are used from the drawings, but with patience you can usually get there.

There are probably around half a dozen page size colour photos in the book - this is not a book for people looking for bondage photos.

As I wasn't buying the book for the photos, I was perfectly happy with this, and enjoyed the photos particularly as they had an assortment of models of show more different builds, ages and genders. They feel like real people - and I prefer that. There's a couple of the photos that have a really lovely emotional feel to them.

I would have found the book easier to use if each tie had said clearly how much rope was needed. Some do, and some don't.

Overall, it's a good book that does a few ties in depth, rather than skimming over a large number briefly.

This is one of my favourite books showing various rope bondage ties ever. The images in here are gorgeous! The only reason I took half a star off is that the instructions can be hard to follow unless you're fairly skilled with rope already.
