Jeff Herman's Guide to Book Publishers, Editors, and Literary Agents 2012, 22E: Who They Are! What They Want! How to Win Them Over! (Jeff Herman's ... Editors, Publishers, and Literary Agents) by Jeff Herman
Great book, unless you purchase the book annually in hopes for updated information and content. Found content to be informative and accurate in previous years. However, the 2011 edition was almost word for word a repeat of the 2010 edition, very disappointed and a waste of money, not to mention the material was out of date.

Jeff Herman’s Guide to Book Publishers, Editors & Literary Agents, 29th Edition: Who They Are, What They Want, How to Win Them Over (The Jeff Herman's ... Book Publishers, Editors & Literary Agents) by Jeff Herman
Part I: Advice for Writers
Part 2: Literary Agents
Part 3: Publishing Conglomerates (Hachette, HarperCollins, Macmillan, PRH, S&S)
Part 4: Independent Presses
Part 5: Freelance Editors
The literary agents are listed alphabetically by agency, with an extensive Q&A for each agent within the agency. It would be useful to have them sorted, or indexed, by the type of material they are seeking as well (e.g. picture books, middle grade, YA, adult fiction, nonfiction, etc.) but as agents within an agency show more may cover all of those between themselves, I understand why it wasn't done this way. Still, a useful resource. show less
