This is an interesting approach to crime-solving by an administrative employee of a police station in Ireland. There are several threads to follow and crimes to solve which becomes a bit confusing at times. The primary female characters are interesting and their personalities were unique, but I didn't develop any strong feelings for them. I felt like everything was wrapped up a bit too rapidly at the end.

This book was unexpectedly good. Honestly, it took me a while to get into it because it started off a little slow and didn't really grab my attention too much. But once I got into it I couldn't put it down. Anna Clarke works with the police dept in a small town that has been plagued by a notorious crime family. There was so much stuff going on in Anna's life that I was convinced there was no way the author was going to show more wrap up all the mysteries and dramas happening but in the end the author explained everything in great detail and so well that I was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely recommend this to other crime/mystery readers. show less

Overall I enjoyed this book. It did start out a little slow but picked up quickly. The book does end on a slight cliff hanger which makes me intrigued to read the next book. show less
