Seem I have hit the proverbial jackpot this month with "new to me authors". I will be searching out more books by Dale Mayer. I didn't like Kate Morgan to begin with, but I had to admire her devotion to the victims and how determined she was to solve the many cold cases that were piling up, especially those that involved children. It's personal to her. Her younger brother was abducted while she was watching him. She was 7. While I have to wonder who in their right mind leaves a 7-year-old to show more watch a younger child, the events that followed has given her the drive that fuels her chosen career. She is dedicated and committed to finding victims, which of course would include her brother. Then we have Simon St. Laurant... I loved him from the start. Simon has a past of his own that he works hard to hide but his fellow cops often find convenient and useful. Simon has the sometimes unwelcome, gift of sight, so he tells Kate that he is having visions and feels compelled to give her information he hopes is helpful. The interaction between Kate and Simon was unusual, yet it worked. I loved the banter between them, and I can't wait to see where this partnership takes them. It was not what I expected at all...but perfect for the beginning of what has all the makings of an addictive series. show less
Uh Oh. Gemma Stone is in the wrong place at the wrong time and taking photos, no less. From juvie to a halfway home…
But…they messed with the wrong kids when they messed with Gem and her friends.
I love this motley group and their loyalty to each other. One for all and all for one. These kids took me o n one wild ride right to the very end.
Love the environmental angle slipped in and the photography.
The suspense is different from what I expected, in an awesome way.
The writing riveting and show more captivated me beginning to end.
The characters are fabulous and I love how the ‘family’ came together.
Touchy subject…foster children.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Gem Stone by Dale Mayer.

I just loved Dezi and Diamond, they both know what they want in life however they didn't know they also wanted each other they just need to make sure their attraction doesn't get Diamond killed! There are plenty of twists as well as a red herring or two that has you guessing as to who is behind everything which made the read even better as I hate knowing who did it too soon! This was another great read in the series and the fact we are 18 books in and every book is still fresh and show more captivating is fantastic! show less
Fern thought she had been away long enough for people to forget about Dr Death, however it turns out it wasn't long enough and someone is still trying to pin murders by deadly plants on her. This time around it appears there may be some support on her side and as she works along side London who she briefly dated before everything went down hill they both wonder where things could lead with them as well as the killer. I just loved the characters as well as the interwoven story of characters show more from the other books which keeps you turning the page and needing to know what will happen next. I think Ferns back story and how it is still haunting her to this day really made the story and there were plenty of twists and surprises right up to the end.
