3.5/5 stars. An absolutely adorable holiday romance about a woman who drives off the road in a snowstorm to save a kitten and ends up mistaken for a home's rightful tenant. Broke, pregnant, and desperate she stays, always knowing she'll have to leave and yet building a home for herself and her son anyway. Until one day, five years later, the house's owner comes home. Left the house by a relative, he had never intended coming home, until his lover betrayed him and sent his life spinning.
Now show more Maddie and Logan are face to face. She's terrified he'll have her arrested, and he's thinking of it, until her story intrigues him. So he makes a deal, she can stay, but she'll pay him with a story each night.
Logan is so terribly broken and bitter after his love affair, and Maddie is so angry and hurt over the circumstances that brought her there and the new ones that threaten the life she's made. Their stories are not fictional, and neither is their pain.
I adored this book. I loved the dialogue, how the author told so much of the story through not only what they said but when and how. I loved the parallel story of the dog searching for his human. I even adored Maddie's son, who doesn't yet understand why love is complicated. I'm definitely going to be looking for Ramer's other books.

Christmas at Angel Lake is the first book that I have read by Ramer, and it definitely won't be the last. I really enjoyed how Ramer provided the reader with some humor, romance, some furry friends, and a fun holiday read. Christmas at Angel Lake begins with an alone and pregnant Maddie finding herself and an orphan kitten seeking shelter in a home that has been empty for a long time. Maddie ends up staying in this home and raising her young son and kitten there all the while paying it show more forward by helping others in need. Logan goes to his grandmother's house that she left him to focus on his work and recover from a bad breakup. Instead he finds his home already occupied with a young mother, her son, and a kitten. Ramer does a great job at developing both of her leading characters and shows how both need to overcome their pasts to find a brighter future. I also loved the addition of the two furry friends trying to get this family where they needed to be. Overall Christmas at Angel Lake was an amazing holiday read that I thoroughly enjoyed, and I am really looking forward to reading more by this author. I would recommend Christmas at Angel Lake for anyone looking for a sweet holiday romance and who shares a love for their furry friends.

Well, the beginning of the story was great! It really drew me in. It had a good foundation, was a little predictable, but was still written well.
The middle got a little confusing and sort of jumped to a-whole-nother thing. And the ending? Honestly, I hated the ending! The fat, smelly, arthritic cat with a heart of gold ends up in the weirdos body and they live happily ever after... What? No, really, what?
That was honestly the most bizarre ending I've ever read. I mean
Overall, the story had potential, but just fell short. Still, it kept me entertained to a degree and that's why it gets a 2.
I quite enjoyed this light romantic tale of body switching. As an owner of three cats, I have to admit I may be a little biased. I gravitate to cat-based stories like a dog to a chew toy, but the story still needs to hold its own and this one certainly did.
Belle (the cat) and Sorcha (the human) switch bodies (or souls, if you prefer) and experience what it is like to live like the other. They must adapt to their new experiences while dealing with murderers, unfamiliar amorous feelings, mean show more nannies, and lonely little girls.... among other things.
The narrative and dialogue were comfortable and I found myself easily drawn from one page to the next. The characters were interesting and Belle, as a human, was just as stubborn and independent as my own cats. I could easily relate to all of her cat-related behaviors. I also really liked the banter between Max and his brother, Ted.
There is intrigue to the story but I wouldn’t call it a mystery since the bad guys are revealed to the reader from the start. It is more a slowly unraveling plot of what happens to both Belle and Sorcha in their newfound bodies, what happens to the bad guys and their evil plans, and how it all ends up happily ever after. And there are HEAs all over the place. Except maybe for poor Ted… perhaps the author will take pity on him and give him a book of his own one day (hint, hint, nudge, nudge).
My only nitpick is the number of typos. There were quite a few, but the other elements of the story were strong enough that I didn’t factor that into the rating.
Cattitude is a charming story for anyone who might enjoy a sweet romance with a “Freaky Friday” feline twist.
Rating: 4 (I Really Liked It)
