I think this is one of those sourcebooks that everyone reads, but nobody actually plays. I was impressed that they were able to eek out 5 'tribes' of Frankensteins for this splat and tie them to alchemy and both the real-world and in-world mythologies so well. Haven't had a chance to play it, obviously, but it doesn't seem too terribly unbalanced (unlike some splats in oWoD and nWoD I will refrain from mentioning), and has tons of hooks for player drama (in the good way). The sourcebook is show more also tasteful - it doesn't use traumatic events like rape as a bludgeon for storytelling and shies away from edginess. I really appreciated how this was a WoD take on hopefulness, with all the tragedy and wistfulness and sorrow that one would expect.
I'd love to write a short story/novella for a nuclear Promethean someday. Its easy to come away from this book with more than a little inspiration. show less

Many children know about Thor and Loki due to the Marvel Universe. Older children may have seen Vikings, a popular History Channel show. I was an avid fan of Vikings, and recently read The Witches Heart, which was a story based on Loki and Angrboda, and Ragnarok, the fall of the Gods. This graphic novel was a quick read of four different norse myths. One was about Thor vs Loki, the next Thor vs The Giants, then The Death of Baldur, and finally, Twilight of the Gods (aka, Ragnorok). The show more illustrations pair exceedingly well with the text. The characters are all accuratley portrayed as they would have been in the actual Norse Myths as written by the Vikings. It was a quick read, partly due to how fun the stories were to read. Graphic novels read faster than the typical novel for me, so i easily zoomed through it. Norse Mythology is less common than the typical Greek Mythology, for example, that we often read or see about. Students looking for an easy introduction to it would really enjoy this graphic novel.

One of the weakest products ever released by White Wolf. The characters are various unliving beings, given animation and sentience by some vague plot device, and have a culture and traditions despite being unable to live together, or reside in any location for any reasonable length of time. The goal is to gain full life, lose all your powers and abilities, and (given this is White Wolf) die in wretchedness and obscurity.
This is a novel for White Wolf's World of Darkness game Hunter the Reckoning. The hunters are regular people given special powers that allow them to see past the veils put up by the supernatural beings living around them.
This is the frist reasonably decent book in the series. We mostly jump to all new charactors and we peek into the world of the Mages. We find one group of mages trying to manipulate one special mans life for their own gains, and another group to prevent this at all costs.
