Lee Frost offers a basics to somewhat advanced discussion on the elements of landscape photography, with plenty of brilliant photographs to illustrate his points. Frost is English, and it is fascinating as an American reader to see his photographs of so many things not from around here. Frost did use a number of American West images to illustrate his point on why extensive planning is necessary: he took a ten-day trip and hit many of the American West icons, and the photographs are show more brilliant. Whether you are a student of landscape photography or simply someone who loves great photography, this is a great book to have on hand. I've been shooting landscapes for years, so much of the technical discussion was rehash (but spot-on advise for beginners)-- but as a pro/hobbyist I'm in awe of some of these images. show less
