An adaptation and abridgement of Howard Carter's own book. Really interesting, full of the photographs that Harry Burton, then employed by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, but on loan to Carter for the duration, took during the several years of careful excavation and preservation that ensued after the initial discovery. Also one photograph of some really glamorous '20s visitors to the tomb.
I just glanced at it, but it seems to give a brief description of the various techniques and materials used by Eskimos along with photographs of resulting objects. The problem is the cover looks old and the book lacks the in-your-face busyness of modern nonfiction.
this book details and discusses the culture and life style of a Plain Indian. It explains their fight to protct their hunting ground. It also informs us about the smaller things like the structure of a tipi.I think this is a great pick for a student to read that isn't ust entertaining, but also informational. To make this into an assignment the students could design their own native american tribe and decorate tipis.
I highly recommend this series of art books by Shirley Glubok, especially with regards to historical time periods.
