I read Audrey Bunny, in exchange for honest review from FlyBy Blog Promotions. The book starts out with Audrey sitting in a barrel full of other toys in a toy store, waiting to be bought and played with. She wants to be perfect for a little girl or boy, but she keeps getting overlooked.
How many times have we tried to be perfect for someone, only to be overlooked because of a perceived imperfection? Maybe we changed our behavior and attitudes to impress someone, who was simply not show more interested.
Audrey was imperfect, but being imperfect does not mean she does not deserve love. We all have imperfections and flaws. We deserve love. Audrey thought if she kept her imperfections hidden, then the little girl, Caroline, would love her because Audrey would be considered perfect. She thought if Caroline saw her imperfection, she would be returned to the store. What happens next..Read the book.
At the end of the book, there is a parent connection, a mini bible study using Psalms 119:73.
Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands (Biblegateway.com)
There is a reading, then questions, followed by action. This was a quick read. The book was well-written and had beautiful images. show less

I was blown away by the bible study Angie Smith did, Seamless. I loved her transparency, her humor, and the way she put things together for people that did not grow up in church and/or if they did how to tie things together from Old Testament and New. Likewise, I appreciated her use of visual aids with maps, pictures, and other tools to help bring these stories to life.
Furthermore, I enjoyed this book as the author continues the same style of writing and teaching about how bible characters show more relate to one another and God. Helping readers see the whole story, see the bigger picture. Here’s a peek at her humor in the midst of a bible story. Angie talks about Adam, Even and the Serpent and the disillusion of perfection and the reality of our true condition after the fall. She says,…”God’s first recorded words, “Where are you?”
“Rest assured, he was not looking down into the garden like, “Oh my gosh, these are my first people, and I’ve already lost them. PERFECT.” No, he knew where they were. He wasn’t asking about their physical location; he was asking about the posture of their hearts toward him.”
I highly recommend this for everyone. I know it is one I’ll be reading over again. There is so much in here.

This is an amazing book. When we think we have everything figured out, we realize that we really do not know Him. And Angie open our eyes for that fact, using a very colloquial language, very simple and easy to understand. She proves to us that we are using the wrong approach to reach God. Many different aspects touched me deeply in this book, while I was reading it. The more we want to be close to God, the more we chase Him e the more we get frustrated for not sensing that communion we show more seek. But as she stated clearly, "we can't comprehend the truth in all it's wild simplicity, so we create a version of Christianity that appeals more to our sensibilities". How deep this sentence goes. Like herself, I am also a very intuitive person, so I have exactly the same feeling that I did not try hard enough to achieve my intimacy with God. And the capstone came in the form "When we spend more of our time searching for assurance than we do acting our of belief, we are chasing God". How true that thought is! So I start having the feeling that the author had some points on her assessments, and I was identifying myself very much with her thoughts. And when she gave suggestions on how not to chase God, I was devouring the book like it was my last supper. "Don't wait for the miracle you think will make it clear. Confess your belief and then act out of that determination". And every page I turned I read more advises that at the end I was astonished on how far away I was going on my approach to know God.
If you really want to know your God, I recommend you read this book on how to reach him and not incur in the same mistakes I did. Like the author, "I don't want to run anymore. I want to kneel".
Excellent reading, I recommend this book to the permanent library of any serious Christian who wants to improve his relationship with our God, that loves us so much!

I loved this book. Smith shares honestly her experience with the death of her daughter, as well as her nephew. It's a difficult subject that Smith handles gracefully. Her experience is rooted in her faith and she speaks from that perspective. Even if you are not well-rooted in a religion, this book could be helpful in working through a loss.
