In addition to describing the astronauts' journey, Jan also tells the reader of her experiences on the homefront, watching her father in his heroic journey. Also, this book is full of diagrams and distances (in kilometers and miles) describing outer space and the technology used, giving the reader show more access to scientific data in a non-threatening way.
