Diomidis Spinellis professor in the Department of Management Science and Technology, AUEB, has lectured extensively on developing and debugging complex systems. He has worked at Google, as site reliability engineering senior software engineer; has served on the FreeBSD committers' team; has show more contributed code that ships with OS X and BSD Unix; and has developed widely used open source software, such as UMLGraph and CScout. His books Code Reading (Addison-Wesley, 2003) and Code Quality (Addison-Wesley, 2006) each earned a Software Development Productivity Award. Beautiful Architecture: Leading Thinkers Reveal the Hidden Beauty in Software Design by Diomidis Spinellis
Much like Beautiful Code in that I certainly didn't enjoy all of the essays, but that will vary for each person. I did find some pieces that talked about interesting projects, but I'm not sure i really saw interesting architectures.
