Another fun chapter in this series, although it did drag a tiny bit near the end (it may just be that I'm not a fan of a certain trope). I loved all the little pop culture references, from the relatively recent (Everyone has a plumbus in their home) to the slightly older. I didn't know Arthur Dent was still a thing with the current generation. Then again, there was that movie thing.
Plotwise, I like that the protagonist is making tough choices (no good superhero-like choices here), and yet show more we never get into any essentially dark and depressing parts of the story that make you want to step out of the book for a bit. There is always an element of escapism present to keep that levity that moves the reader onward. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next book in the series! show less

A very engaging read, the author keeps the story surprising and the protagonist feels very realistic to most of us who graduated college post-millennium! Although there are no heavy science fiction elements, it is a very fun bit of escapism.

An enjoyable story, but I don't think I'll remember it a year from now. I see there are two more books in the series. Not interested.
