I pick this series up to look at the pretty, sexy pictures. So many gorgeous characters!
Reading all the words though, well, takes much longer than it should to get through a piece of erotica. Lauren Thomas talks constantly about her traumatic break-up and how she wants to use sex to distract herself. The incubus and succubus who are vying to be her designated sex toy talk constantly with their bosses and friends about the personal and political ramifications of this battle of the bimbos in show more themselves and in the larger scheme of the Greek mythology at play. Thankfully, everyone is scantily clad during these monologues and dialogues, but I do think all the gabbing is interfering with the frequency of actual sex.
Regardless of the blather, I'll be back for the next volume for more of the pictures.
FOR REFERENCE:
Contents: Chapter 7. Prometheus Wept -- Chapter 8. My Cup Runneth Over -- Chapter 9. Desire -- Chapter 10. Beyond My Wildest Dreams -- Chapter 11. The Miracle Cure -- Chapter 12. Desire Is Honest, But So Is . . . -- Chapter 13. The Sacrament of Bliss -- Chapter 14. The Morningstar -- Chapter 15. The Prodigal Son -- Advance Preview. The Queen and the Woodborn show less

This book goes beond lighthearted, sexy girl on girl fetishism and BDSM and explores some of the ways we jump to conclusions and hurt the ones we love when we least mean to. Having read Volumes 1 -3 of Sunstone, Ally and Lisa are real enough characters that their assumptions and hurt feelings are very believable. Sure, hot girl on girl action and lots of great artwork and fetishist outfits just like the other volumes of Sunstone up till now, but deeper feeling and insecurities too that left show more me wanting to know not just what they are wearing next but what they are doing next, and if their relationship can survive their mistakes. show less
Sexy people have way too little sex and talk way too much.
There's a plot in here, and I can follow it at times, but it is all tangled up with dozens of characters, some of whom have changed their names at various points, with new ones still being introduced in large quantities even in this, the third volume. Mostly they are Greek gods, but there are some Egyptian ones popping in, and there are also a bunch of regular humans -- some on the path to becoming more than human thanks to a weird show more contract system and godly interference. And this is in a shared universe with the Punderworld title, so those folks can show up anytime too.
But did I mention everyone looks sexy and they occasionally have sex?
So, yeah, I don't understand this series, but I'll be back for the next volume.
FOR REFERENCE:
Contents: Chapter 16. Misery -- Chapter 17. The Failure -- Chapter 18. The Shimmer -- Chapter 19. Stupid Cupid -- Chapter 20. Scarred -- Chapter 21. Efforts Must Be Doubled! -- Chapter 22. The Grand Baccanalia -- Chapter 23. The Ring -- Chapter 24. A Goddess Scorned -- Chapter 25. A Terrible Symmetry -- Chapter 26. The King of Endings and the Queen of Beginnings -- Cover Preview: Fine Print Volume 4 -- Advance Preview: Punderworld Volume 2 show less

I was morbidly curious about today’s smut in comic form, so I was surprised to find this not SUPER perverted. It was almost a PSA for BDSM at times, with the lengths it took to describe the process in a positive, nonjudgmental way. It also takes care toward its two main characters beyond what you’d expect of smutlit sex objects to the point it’s more of a rom-com than a 50 Shades fantasy. Plenty of nudity, but not overly explicit about the specific details—a lot of the time there’s show more not actual sex scenes, and when there are, they’re not concerned with the lurid sides of sex. They focus on the two characters’ developing emotions for each other, and gloss over the pornography. Kind of respectable? show less
