Where's My Mommy? is a book about a baby crocodile that is born without his mother in sight, so he goes on a search to find her and comes across a monkey, tiger, elephant, and a zebra that he thinks are his mother but are not.

I liked this booked because it was funny how the baby crocodile didn't recognize just from looking at the other animals that they were not his mother, and it made me think about my nephew and when he was a baby he would always say "momma" to anyone.

I would use this in show more my classroom and have all the students draw pictures of their family's and present what they drew and describe what their family looks like. I would also have them draw what they think other children family's look like and discuss what they have drawn and why. show less
Lovely little book. It inspired me to think about and wonder at all the little things that exist around us. I enjoyed the authors enthusiasm and artwork. If fungi and insects - or just amazing facts and drawings on said topics - I would recommend!
A good example of fantasy because the animals in this story take on human characteristics such as speech and human interactions that would not be seen in the wild. The baby crocodile asks other animals if they happen to be his mommy, but neither the elephant, zebra, tiger, nor the monkey has the same characteristics as the crocodile and together they decide that that is not where the crocodile belongs. When he finally finds other green animals splashing in the water and snapping their jaws, show more the baby crocodile knows he is home and his mommy is elated to see him again. This story helps children see that sometimes they may become separated from their parents but not to panic because soon they will be reunited. Also, there is a loving place where they belong and family is a great thing to have.

A little chick wants to play with his mother but she is sitting on her eggs. So the chick goes and runs, bounces, jumps, rolls, and skips with the other animals on the farm. When he returns to tell his mom, he has new siblings to play with. This is a simple book that I would use in my classroom to teach kids about farm animals. I would use this with the younger grades.
