Great saint for teaching one about perseverance under humiliation and rejection, as well as humility in complete obedience and subjection to superiors. This saint was finally admitted as a lay brother after two rejections; on the third he was allowed in by a soft-hearted superior who then let him be doorkeeper. Before long, the saint became an example of humble obedience and desire for God to the point that at age 73 he was asked to write, twice a year until his death at age 83, the account show more of his life. At age 63, due to physical infirmity of age, even his doorkeeper job was taken from him, to which he humbly accepted. It surprised others that he lived another 20 years!
